UPDATE:  The City Council will Be Meeting on July 27th 2020, in the evening to consider if they will or will not open up camping to cities outside of the Mesabi East School District. I will update this page after the City Council meets with their decision. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. 7/8/2020

UPDATE: The City Council has decided to keep reservations Limited to the Mesabi East School District 6/22/2020

 Fisherman’s Point Campground will accept LOCAL RESIDENTS ONLY to make regular campsite reservations (not seasonal), through the remainder of the regular camping season, September 24, 2020. Camping reservations will be limited to Mesabi East School District residents and will be taken by telephone only. Please call 218-225-3337 to make your reservations beginning Monday, June 1; Calls will be accepted during regular office hours. Please do not call the City Clerk’s Office for reservations. All campers must follow CDC, MDH, MDNR regulations for COVID-19.

Some amenities and services may not be available; campers are asked to bring hand sanitizer, wipes, etc. Campers with self-contained bathroom facilities are preferred and encouraged. The City will continue to monitor CDC, MDH, DNR rules, regulations, and recommendations and may make changes to the reservation system as needed. Please monitor the campground website: www.fishermanspointmn.com for updates. Thank you in advance for your cooperation, as we anticipate heavy call volume with only one call line open. A Covid-19 Preparedness Plan will be posted at the Campground office.


For all our Campers information:  The Hoyt Lakes Water Carnival and T&T's Summer Fest have been cancelled. They both hope to be back bigger and better in 2021. They both Thank you for your support.

About Us

Fisherman's Point Campground is a municipal campground located on a wooded peninsula of Whitewater Lake in northern Minnesota, featuring 93 secluded campsites with all the amenities and scenery you could ask for. Please visit our About Us page for more information about our campground and additional activities located less than two miles away in downtown Hoyt Lakes. Although NONE of our sites have sewer or water hook-ups we do have a filtered city water fill station and a dump station avaiable on site, for our campers free of charge.

During the Season

The 2020 camping season runs from April 23 to September 24.

Rates:  With Electric and Lake access $30 per night

             With Electric No Lake access $25 per night

             With out Electric (Site #49 only) $15 per night

During the Off Season

Off season camping is:

Reservations are made using our online reservation system by clicking Make Reservations, located on the left side of the screen. You will need a username and password to make reservations. If you are not yet registered, click on My Account to the left and register.

Reservations are strongly recommended during season. Please call or email the campground office during the hours listed above with questions or reservation issues.

 Cancellations are accepted by the Campground Manager via telephone and email. If a camper cancels eight (8) days prior to the reservation, the Campground Manager may issue a "credit" to a future stay during the same camping season ONLY. If that's not an option the first night camping rental fee will be considered Non-refundable. First day campsite rental fee is non-refundable for ANY reason when cancelling (7) days notice or less. There will be No refunds or credits given to campers after checking into and paying for their camping stay for ANY reason. The City of Hoyt Lakes will not issue any cash/check refunds for any reservation cancellation.
